The Song of Little Stone




The lonely old monkey went out after a long time. He wanted to pick some flowers for his deceased wife. He stopped to take a nap on the way. Unexpectedly, he was awakened by the tears of a bird. A bird mistook the old monkey for a stone. The old monkey was not happy, so he insisted on calling the bird "Little Stone". Little Stone sadly told him that its singing was laughed at by other birds.
The old monkey asked the little stone to sing for him. Its singing brought the old monkey wild imagination and strength. He stopped trapping himself, cheered up, faced life, and welcomed a new journey of life... ...



Higo Wu is a picture book critic, translator, and writer. He also runs a popular podcast about picture books. Many of his works have been recommended by the Taipei Public Library’s Award-Winning Children’s Books campaign, including his picture book Blooming Jizo which won the 2018 Children’s Book of the Year.

Kiko Yang was born in Pingtung, Taiwan. After graduating from university, he travelled to Spain and learned painting and pottery by chance. Twenty years later, he moved back to his hometown with his Japanese wife. They opened a small wabi-sabi style coffee shop by a fish farm. He also designs covers for magazines and illustrates picture books.
